Mengikut Bank Dunia, globalisasi dapat diringkaskan sebagai 1 edaran global bagi barangan,perhidmatan, modal,maklumat,idea dan juga manusia.Takrifan ini juga menunjukkan bahawa dunia telah menjadi semakin berkembang berdasarkan kepada idea yang telah dilontarkan oleh sesetengah penulis yang terkemuka, tetapi beberapa ahli geografi berpendapat bahawa melalui geografilah telah membawa kepada globalisasi pada masa sekarang.
